Who would have known that a gift from my husband would inspire me to become a cruiser biking diva? I received my first cruiser bike along with a large beautiful wire basket. Living in Colorado, I have always been a mountain biker, but riding a cruiser is a totally different ball game. I quickly fell in love with casual riding, not only because it's convenient and comfortable, but also because it was something I could do with my kids on a daily basis. What I discovered was that I wanted a fashionable basket liner to add to my new ensemble. As I embarked on a journey to create stylish and high quality liners, it was also very apparent that it HAD to be functional so my liners convert to a sturdy handbag with straps. Thus, Betty Bike Basket Liners was born.
Biking has traditionally been a male dominated industry, until now!! Women are just as athletic, motivated and willing to ride, whether it be in a race, on dirt trals or on pavement. I lived in Europe as a young child and riding your bike was, and still is, the main form of transportation. It wasn't unusual to see a mother pulling three children and the groceries behind her bike. The United States is finally catching up to Europe and I have noticed a tremendous emphasis on cycling rather than driving. Yay! Not only is it better for us, it's better for the environment. What I have also noticed is that women want to look and feel good, even while they are riding! It makes perfect sense....why not marry fashion and function? Betty Bike Basket Liners is the beginning of that marriage.
This chic cycling movement is an important one. My goal is to inspire women to feel and look great while riding! I want to highlight bike fashion AND function through this blog so that we can all feel better about our time here on earth! Girls, let's start a riding revolution.....
